ABOUT EBAY

This page originates for providing information and data ABOUT EBAY to assist potential or existing Sellers and Buyers on facts that, otherwise, are missing in many of the products promoting and referencing buying or selling on eBay.

The voluminous amount of eBay sales material in the marketplace today, paints only a flavorful and colorful picture for the simple reason to sell the product.

Products, articles, and subject matter about eBay with its sole purpose and intention for sale normally do not provide or identify the real facts for sellers and buyers.

Many of these type products leave out so many of the facts that should avail discussion instead of printing pure hype.

Some books and materials including education and instructional matter will confuse the reader.

I can advise, caution and uncover a great deal about eBay, however, I hope to receive many of your comments to reveal your experiences with either sales or purchases on eBay.

I will look forward to your comments and dialog.

One of My Early Experiences –

When first starting out, unfortunately, I resold a product by another developer. I had seen other sellers listing the item on eBay, additionally; I read my resale rights and was confident I could place it up on eBay for sale.

I sold a few of the item and provided technical support for the software; however, when a customer asked specific inquiries that I thought the developer should answer, I forwarded the customer to them.

I was in shock when I received an email from the developer of the software advising me to, immediately end my listing because the resale rights did not allow the product for sale on auctions or memberships.

I read my resale rights a minimum of three times to find the details that advised me of those specifics. I could not find those details

I ended my listing although I felt slighted,

Now, you may be thinking that this had absolutely nothing at all to do with eBay, but the only the Developer of the software. No, that is not the case.

During my communication with the Developer, I learned that he had advised and listed his product with eBay for its removal upon any listing. However, that did not occur.

eBay allowed me to list the software in addition to allowing my original purchase of the very same software on eBay.

Additionally, as many times as the product was removed by the Developer personally contacting the parties who listing the item, eBay repeatedly allowed it to be listed.

If a copyright owner provides the necessary information and details to eBay prohibiting a certain product, eBay should have the capabilities preventing the item from listing. Especially, when eBay provides such a program for developers to join and record their barred product.

In my experience, I learned over time, that I was the only seller no longer listing the product for the reason that eBay did not enforce any such disallowing program.

As a note of mention, I was very surprised to see some sellers that knew of their proscribed listings, yet continued to list and resell the software.
