About Me
About Me
I started selling Digital Products on eBay in September of 2003. I found it to be very lucrative.
I was writing and selling Digital Products on the Internet prior to testing eBay’s market for eBooks.
I have been a technical writer and computer professional since the early 1980’s where I developed and designed teaching and training material.
Over the years technological progression and advancement enhanced my capabilities to utilize Microsoft’s Word and PowerPoint along with other programming and database applications.
Making use of such software, I created and produced teaching and training presentations, videos and a variety of other style instructional manuals in my own business.
Additionally, I programmed various database applications for business productivity and management tasks which I marketed and sold.
My ebooks sold immediately on eBay. However, I will add that the Internet has always been a more successful venue for selling digital products.
I realized from the very beginning that the costs for websites and hosting were minimal in comparison to the costs for listing and selling items on eBay.
For the reader, I will add here, that I sold ebooks on Overstock and Yahoo auctions as well. Those costs were almost nothing compared to eBay’s listing and final value fees.
I did research to find just what market there was for ebooks on eBay; in September of 2003, the number of digital products selling was minuscule to March 31, 2008.
The reason I note the above date specifically is due to eBay’s March 25, 2008 discontinuance, in other words banning, the listing and sales of downloadable Digital Products via eBay.
You can read more on why eBay decided to implement their new policy on the ‘ABOUT EBAY’ page in ‘eBayAdrenaline Blog’.
As of this date, eBay has suspended sellers if they continued to list digital downloadable items or, for some, ended all digital delivery products listed.
I am so pleased that I never applied more focus to my selling on eBay than I did for my Internet Sales. As noted above eBay’s costs were steep in comparison to my Internet expenses.
I also found it quite cumbersome until eBay actually begun providing a Digital Delivery System. You can read more about eBay’s once ‘Digital Delivery System’ in ‘ABOUT EBAY’
I did sell other type products, additionally to eBooks on eBay, such as software, tutorials, websites, search engine optimization services, hosting, marketing and How-To Videos including turnkey Internet Businesses.
Frankly, my Internet sales of all of the above noted products far exceeded eBay; therefore, I applied my strategy and techniques toward the online World Wide Web.
Additionally, sales prices were far lower on eBay in comparison to the Internet. What sold on eBay for ten dollars would easily sell on the Internet for $29.95 plus.
My objective was to provide sincere and quality customer service. My desire was to assist others in achieving success.
There came a time when Internet and eBay buyers and sellers requested the same knowledge as I had in writing and publishing my own digital products and websites.
After a time, I no longer could answer all of the inquiries and provide the technical support in a timely manner to the many who emailed me. It was then I decided to develop an eCourse that would train those interested in setting up their own digital products online business.
There are a great many steps in accomplishing a successful business enterprise. It is not difficult. It requires systematic instructional methods to achieve your goals.
For one example, becoming aware of the subject matter available to you in the Public Domain is imperative in acquiring an abundant wealth of content for your digital products.
I only wish I had 30 hours a day to write all of the information there is available. I would like to make known to everyone the many noteworthy and valuable assets obtainable and for very little cost to the producer.
